MEET THE DOCTOR & STAFF

David C. Walden, D.D.S.
Dentist

On the occasion of Dr. Walden’s 25th anniversary of dental practice in Ellettsville, he, his wife Marie, and his family would like to thank his patients and community for all of their support, especially during his son, Kit’s recovery period. Dr. Walden is also now a certified member of the American Laser Dentist Society (ALDS), the American Orthodontic Society, and is pleased to announce the addition of digital radiography—one of the newest and sophisticated dental technologies—to his office in April 2008. Dr. Walden will be attending the ALDS convention this April in San Diego and learning the newest techniques and technological advances that the laser dental industry has to offer. Dr. Walden also attended the National American Dental Association conference in San Francisco in October 2007 where he learned the latest techniques in laminates and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Walden and Marie both feel an obligation to give back to the local community. The two are proud to be involved with the Monroe Country Foundation and Dollars for Scholars (a society that helps local students achieve the funds necessary for college). In addition, the Traumatic Brain Injury Society holds a special place in their hearts, and Dr. Walden has joined the in charge of creating a new Recreational Access Park currently under construction at Karst Farms Park. Dr. Walden is also involved in the new Traumatic Brain Injury state committee funded by the State legislature since 2007. The committee’s goals are to distribute funds, help hospitals establish better methods and treatment s to heal those with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and to create state clinics to improve the lives of those who suffer from these debilitating injuries.

Patient Accounts Coordinator

While attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Kelly vowed to get as far away as possible once she finished school. She made it a whole four miles to Ellettsville thanks to a blind date (read nice motorcycle) where she was introduced to her husband, Bryan. The couple now delight in raising their two beautiful daughters. In addition to spending time with her family, Kelly also enjoys horseback riding, camping, fishing, off-roading, boating, hiking and spending time at their shooting range. She is also an aspiring photographer.

Rachel Lynn Hardesty Dental Hygienist
	Rachel is a Licensed Dental Hygienist. She has worked her for the past 9 years. Rachel lives in Worthington with her husband, Chris, their son, Questyn and daughter, Adilynn. She is very involved with her church and family.

Kathy Reid
Dental Hygienist

Kathy is a Licensed Dental Hygienist with over 30 years in the field of dentistry. 17 of these years have been as a dental hygienist. She graduated from Indiana University of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Kathy and her husband, James, live in Spencer and have 6 children between them. Kathy's daughter, Shawna, and her husband, Chris live in Indy with their two children, Natalie and Carter. Kathy’s son, Brent and his wife Amanda reside in Crawfordsville with their daughter, Caitlin. Her other son, Shawn lives in Bloomington. Jim’s children live in Connecticut. Kathy has been very involved in preventative dental health for children, especially sealants. Her model design for a sealant program was used by the Indiana Department of Health in the early years of offering sealant programs to school children. She is CPR certified and also a ServSafe Instructor and Proctor for food service. Kathy enjoys working on genealogy, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.

Shannon Sutche Dental Assistant
	Shannon, a Certified Dental Assistant for the past 18 years, has been with Dr. Walden for 2 years. She enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with her family and friends.

Julie Schmidt Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
	Julie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and is new to Dr. Walden's practice. She has worked in the dental field for 12 years. She lives in Bloominton with her husband, Ryan and their 4 year old daughter Jocelyn. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling as much as possible.
